This is the best time to play SF3 and its still popular as hell on xbox 360 online and PC fightcade. So think about it that way, what excuse do you have? you got none my friend. Today you got the benefit of safety over the internet and cost nothing to play AND you can even use a square gate or the stick of your choice. Sometimes when I beat people in SF3 and Xmen vs Street FIghter, their friends would come and tap my buttons or push me while I was playing so I would lose on purpose. In my time losing meant I had to walk home instead of taking the Taxi after school because losing meant you lost real money each time in the arcades using a terribly difficult to learn Korean Stick with circle gates or no gates. BTW OP put it this way, as bad as you feel trying to learn SF3, you have it a trillion times easier.
